Discover70 Foundation serves as the Coordinator for the Caribbean Region for UN Ocean Decade Project - Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) Program. As part of this role, we aim to provide Opportunities to ECOPs in building their skills to better serve ocean science and conservation.
The Foundation partnered with The University of the West Indies (Jamaica) to provide instruction and funding for 16 students for their Diving For Scientists Course. These students are undergraduate in the University's Marine Biology Program. Founder and President, Dr Dayne Buddo and Jon Fajans (PADI and DAN Instructor) co-instructed the course with the University's faculty. This included PADI Open Water Training with Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty and DAN Diver First Aid Course.
